Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated, hardworking, and compassionate Groom / Equine Care Assistant to join our team providing recovery and recuperation for a wide range of equines. This is a rewarding hands-on role for someone who is passionate about horse welfare and thrives in a busy environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out general yard duties while helping to provide exceptional care and handling for horses with a variety of backgrounds, needs, and temperaments.
On the job training provided. The role has scope to evolve with increased responsibilities and opportunities for the right person. Salary is negotiable depending on skills and experience.
Responsibilities
- Daily care of rehabilitation horses
- Mucking out stables and maintaining clean, safe environments
- Feeding, watering, and monitoring horse wellbeing
- Grooming and preparing horses for veterinary, farrier and future life
- Safe handling and leading, of horses as directed
- Turning horses in and out of paddocks
- Maintaining yards, paddocks.
- Assisting with stock management, bedding, and feed deliveries
- Monitoring and reporting any changes in horse behaviour, health, or condition
- Supporting the wider team in delivering high standards of equine welfare
Skills
- Previous experience working with horses
- Confident and competent horse handling skills
- Good understanding of horse welfare and stable management .
- Experience with animal care routines to ensure animals are healthy and comfortable.
- Reliable & hardworking,
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Flexible approach to working weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis

Pay: From £25,420.00 per year
