Job Summary
We are seeking professional Class 1 HGV Drivers to join our logistics team on a self employed basis. The successful candidates will be responsible for safely operating curtain sider to deliver goods efficiently across various locations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a strong focus on safety, punctuality, and customer service. Duties
- Safely operate Class 1 HGV lorries, specialising in curtain sider deliveries.
- Plan and follow optimal routes to ensure timely deliveries and collections.
- Secure loads properly, adhering to safety regulations.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or issues.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods where necessary, ensuring accuracy and care.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs (both on paper and on apps).
- Comply with all legal requirements, including tachograph regulations and driving hours limits.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, ensuring a professional image at all times.
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 HGV licence with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with curtain sider and box trailer vehicles.
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices for secure load handling.
- Ability to operate curtain siders and box trailers and other specialised equipment safely and efficiently.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to plan routes effectively.
- Physically fit to handle loading/unloading tasks when required.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; punctuality is essential. This role is ideal for dedicated drivers looking to advance their career within logistics while ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of goods across the region.
Pay: £160.00-£180.00 per day
