Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Painter and Decorator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying paint, varnishes, and other finishes to various surfaces, ensuring high-quality workmanship and attention to detail. This role involves working on diverse projects, from residential to commercial properties, and requires a strong understanding of colour matching, surface preparation, and decorating techniques. The successful applicant will contribute to creating aesthetically pleasing environments while maintaining safety standards on site.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling holes, and applying primers to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Apply paints, varnishes, stains, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment with precision and care.
- Interpret project specifications and work from drawings or instructions to meet client expectations.
- Ensure all work is completed within specified timeframes while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding project progress or any issues encountered during work.
- Assist in the organisation of materials and tools required for each project to optimise efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction painting or decorating is highly desirable.
- Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation between sites.
- Good command of English language for effective communication with clients and team members.
- Strong communication skills to understand project requirements and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to painting and decorating activities.
- Attention to detail with a keen eye for colour matching and finishing quality.
- Physical fitness to undertake manual tasks such as lifting equipment and working at heights if necessary.
