Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Worktop Fabricator’s Assistant to join our workshop team in Barwell.
This is an entry-level position, so previous experience is not essential. Full training, supervision and all necessary PPE/safety equipment will be provided.
Responsibilities
You will work alongside an experienced fabricator, assisting with the manufacture of bespoke stone worktops in our workshop.
Your duties will include:
- Assisting with the fabrication and finishing of bespoke worktops
- Handling and moving materials safely
- Helping the fabricator prepare worktops ready for installation
- Keeping the workshop clean, organised and safe
- Assisting with stock and warehouse duties
- Loading/unloading materials and general workshop tasks
- Learning our fabrication processes and safe working procedures
Experience
The successful candidate must:
- Be physically fit, as the role involves a lot of manual handling and being on your feet throughout the day
- Have a good attitude towards work
- Be reliable, punctual and willing to learn
- Be comfortable working in a busy workshop environment
- Be able to follow instructions and work safely
- Be willing to help with different workshop and warehouse duties when required
- Work well as part of a small team
Hours & Progression
The position is based on a Zero hours contract and will initially be for 2 days per week, but there is the potential for this to increase as the role develops and depending on workload. Covering for holidays is also a requirement.
For the right person, there will also be the opportunity to learn more of the worktop fabrication process and develop their skills over time.
No previous stone fabrication experience is required – attitude, reliability and willingness to learn are more important.
Pay: Up to £12.71 per hour
