Tyne Coast College is seeking a committed, enthusiastic and learner-focused professional to join our friendly and supportive Foundation Studies team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality education and support for learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), while leading on the planning, coordination and delivery of Level 1 and non-accredited programmes.

About the Role
As part of our Foundation Studies department, you will deliver engaging, inclusive and learner-centred sessions that support students to develop essential skills, confidence, independence and progression opportunities.
You will take a lead role in the delivery of Level 1 Information Technology and non-accredited programmes, ensuring learners receive high-quality learning experiences that help them achieve meaningful outcomes aligned to their individual goals, EHCP outcomes and Preparing for Adulthood aspirations.
Working closely with colleagues, families, carers and external professionals, you will help create a positive, supportive environment where every learner is valued, respected and empowered to succeed.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience of teaching, tutoring or supporting learners with SEND and additional learning needs.
Can plan and deliver engaging, learner-centred sessions that promote achievement and progression.
Understands inclusive practice and can adapt teaching and support strategies to meet a range of learner needs.
Has knowledge of Preparing for Adulthood, person-centred approaches and supporting positive learner outcomes.
Can monitor learner progress effectively and use information to inform future learning.
Communicates confidently with learners, colleagues, parents, carers and external professionals.
Is organised, professional and able to manage competing priorities effectively.
Shares our commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.
Experience of contributing to EHCP reviews, working with external agencies and supporting learners with social, emotional and mental health needs would be advantageous.
Qualifications
You will have:
A relevant Level 3 qualification or above, or equivalent professional experience.
GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent), or a willingness to work towards achieving them.
A teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one within an agreed timeframe.
Recent SEND-related knowledge, training or experience.
A commitment to continuing professional development.
A Level 5 teaching qualification, assessor qualification or internal quality assurance qualification would be desirable.
