Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Ground Worker/Labourer to join our team immediately. This role involves assisting with various construction and landscaping tasks on-site, supporting the smooth progress of projects. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, eager to learn, and capable of working effectively in outdoor environments. This position offers valuable experience in the construction industry and the opportunity to develop a wide range of practical skills.
Due to the nature of our business, this is a hands-on role working on a variety of projects across different locations. The successful candidate must be dependable, willing to work early starts, and able to travel as required.
Duties
- Assisting with site preparation, including clearing debris and organising materials
- Digging trenches, holes, and foundations as required for construction projects
- Loading and unloading materials and equipment safely and efficiently
- Assisting with the installation of fencing, paving, or landscaping features
- Supporting skilled tradespeople by providing necessary tools and materials
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment by adhering to health and safety regulations
- Operating basic hand tools and machinery under supervision
- Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with project specifications and deadlines
Qualifications
- Previous experience in construction, landscaping, or labouring roles is advantageous but not essential
- Good physical fitness with the ability to perform manual labour for extended periods
- Willingness to learn new skills and follow instructions carefully
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Basic understanding of health and safety practices on construction sites
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
- Valid UK driving licence is desirable but not mandatory. Must have reliable transport or be able to travel to the Cambuslang area for early morning starts.
- Flexible approach to working hours and locations.
- Willing to stay away from home Monday to Friday when projects require it.
