Role: KS1 Teacher (Key Stage One)
Location: Scunthorpe
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Flexible roles (day-to-day, short-term, long-term and temp-to-perm)
Salary: £34,069-£46,940 per annum, pro rata (depending on experience and/or qualifications)
About the role
Heart of Supply is looking for enthusiastic Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced KS1 Teachers to join our network of partner schools across Scunthorpe.
We offer flexible opportunities including day-to-day supply, short-term assignments and longer-term placements within Key Stage 1. In these roles, you'll step into a variety of school settings, deliver engaging lessons using prepared plans, and provide pupils with a positive, consistent learning experience when their usual class teacher is absent.
Whether you're just beginning your teaching career or have years of classroom experience, we'd love to hear from you. We're looking for confident, adaptable teachers who can quickly build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues, manage behaviour calmly and effectively, and bring warmth, enthusiasm and professionalism into the classroom.
Successful applicants will have a strong understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum and be confident teaching core subjects, including early reading, phonics, writing and mathematics. You'll be reliable, proactive and comfortable working in different school environments, supporting pupils to develop confidence, independence and a love of learning.
About the schools
At Heart of Supply, we work closely with a wide range of welcoming primary schools across Scunthorpe. Our partner schools include local authority schools and academy settings that are well-supported, well-resourced, and focused on creating positive learning environments where children can flourish. We take pride in working with schools that value their staff and provide a friendly, supportive atmosphere for visiting educators.
By building strong relationships with our partner schools, we are able to carefully match primary educators with settings that suit their skills, experience, and preferences. Whether a school needs short-term cover or longer-term support, we help ensure continuity and quality in the classroom. For schools, this means access to dedicated professionals who are ready to make a meaningful impact, and for educators, the opportunity to gain valuable experience while supporting primary pupils across Lincolnshire.
What you will need:
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and recent experience in a UK primary setting
- A nurturing, flexible teaching approach with the ability to connect quickly with pupils across Key Stage One (KS1)
- Confident classroom presence with strong behaviour management rooted in positive reinforcement
- The ability to follow pre-set work while bringing your own creativity and energy to the classroom
- Clear communication, a proactive attitude, and the ability to build rapport with pupils and staff alike
- A minimum of 6 weeks’ teaching experience in the UK
We’re fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. All applicants will undergo thorough vetting, including enhanced DBS (with children’s barred list check and Update Service registration), references, and online checks as part of our compliance process.
What we offer you:
- Competitive weekly PAYE pay
- Roles tailored to your lifestyle - day-to-day or longer term
- Access to exclusive opportunities in great local schools
- A friendly, experienced consultant who listens
- Free CPD and ongoing professional development
- A simple ‘Refer a Friend’ scheme
- A welcome bonus (T&Cs apply)
