Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Residential Support Worker to join our team.
This vital role involves providing high-quality care and support to children and young people within a children's residential setting.
The successful candidate will have a sound understanding of trauma informed care and how to ensure that children and young people are provided with care which enables them to reach their full potential.
The successful candidates will play a key part in fostering a safe, nurturing environment, ensuring individualised care plans are implemented effectively, and promoting positive development. Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised care in accordance with individual care plans and risk assessments, ensuring and promote the emotional, behavioural, educational and physical of children's.
- Support and care for children and young people in a manner which positively contributes to achieving positive outcomes for children and young people.
- Foster positive relationships through effective communication, active listening, and empathetic engagement.
- Assist with behavioural management strategies, being a positive role model who promotes respectful and constructive interactions with children, colleagues and professionals.
- Have a sound understanding of trauma informed care and the ability to ensure that our children's homes provide safe, nurturing and positive homely environments for the children living there.
- Drive organisational activities and outings, ensuring safety protocols are adhered to at all times.
- Maintain reporting and requirements to a high standard using IT systems.
- Collaborate with colleagues, families, and external professionals to support children' holistic development.
- Contribute to the organisation’s ongoing training programmes by sharing expertise and mentoring members of the staff team.
Requirements
- Prior experience working within children's residential settings is essential
- Valid driving licence and willingness to undertake driving duties as required.
- Strong communication skills to effectively work with young people, families, and team members.
- Knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and SCIFF.
- Sound knowledge of child protection procedures and safeguarding policies and how these are implemented in day to day practice.
- Ability to develop and follow detailed care plans and risk assessments tailored to children's individual needs.
- Competence in using IT systems for record keeping and reporting purposes.
- Organised, patient, empathetic, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work shifts as required by the organisation’s rota.

Pay: £24,420.00-£36,120.79 per year
