Commissioning Registered Home Manager (NMC Registered)
Location: Outskirts of Colchester, Essex
Salary: £65,000 per annum
We are recruiting an experienced and dynamic Home Manager who is NMC registered (RGN, RMN or RNLD) to lead a specialist residential nursing service located on the outskirts of Colchester.
The service provides specialist nursing, neurorehabilitation and person-centred care for adults living with acquired brain injuries (ABI), traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and other complex neurological conditions. As the service continues to evolve, this is an exciting opportunity to lead a well-established team while driving quality, innovation and continuous improvement.
About the Role
As the CQC Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the operational leadership, quality, compliance and performance of the service. Working closely with the multidisciplinary team (MDT), you will ensure the delivery of safe, effective and person-centred care while maintaining the highest standards of clinical governance and regulatory compliance.
This position requires an experienced leader with a passion for delivering outstanding care, developing high-performing teams and creating an environment where residents and colleagues can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Provide visible, compassionate and effective leadership, promoting a culture of dignity, respect, inclusion and continuous improvement.
Ensure the home operates in full compliance with CQC regulations, legislation, health and safety requirements and organisational policies.
Take overall responsibility for quality assurance, governance, compliance, budgets and operational performance.
Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective and person-centred care that enables residents to maximise independence and achieve positive outcomes.
Oversee care planning, clinical documentation and nursing records, ensuring accuracy, quality and compliance with best practice.
Recruit, develop and retain a high-performing workforce through effective coaching, mentoring, supervision and succession planning.
Drive continuous service improvement, ensuring the home consistently delivers outstanding standards of care.
Build strong relationships with residents, families, commissioners and external professionals to promote excellent outcomes and maintain a positive reputation.
Monitor occupancy, staffing levels and financial performance to ensure the service remains sustainable and commercially successful.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Current NMC registration (RGN, RMN or RNLD).
Previous experience as a Registered Manager or Home Manager within a residential nursing, neurological or specialist care setting.
A proven track record of successfully managing CQC-regulated services and achieving positive inspection outcomes.
Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, clinical governance, safeguarding and quality assurance frameworks.
Excellent leadership, communication and people management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
Experience managing budgets, workforce planning and operational performance.
A proactive, resilient and solutions-focused approach with the ability to lead confidently through change.
A genuine commitment to delivering exceptional, person-centred care for people living with complex neurological conditions.
