About the Role
Lee Marley Brickwork are looking for a Bricklaying Apprentice to join our team on a project in Lewisham. This is a fantastic opportunity to earn while you learn, gain hands-on site experience, and work towards a nationally recognised Level 2 qualification in Bricklaying.
You’ll work under the guidance of experienced tradespeople and supervisors across new and existing building projects, developing your skills in a supportive and professional environment.
Successful candidates will complete a paid work trial before officially starting the apprenticeship programme.
What You’ll Gain
- Maths & English Level 1 (Functional Skills, if applicable)
- Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Bricklaying
- Real on-site experience with an established contractor
- Ongoing mentoring and structured apprentice reviews
Working Hours
- 8:00am – 4:00pm (Under 18)
- 8:00am – 4:30pm (18+)
- Training at LM Academy: 8:30am – 4:30pm (Monday–Friday)
- Occasional weekend work may be required
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Set out and prepare work areas
- Lay bricks, blocks, and masonry units to required standards
- Mix and use mortar safely and correctly
- Use and maintain hand tools and equipment
- Assist with simple scaffolding and access equipment
- Maintain clean and safe work areas
- Attend college (block or day release) and complete coursework
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures and PPE requirements
- Work collaboratively with site teams and other trades
