Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant/Support Worker to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality support and care to individuals in various settings, including care homes and private residences. The successful candidate will play a vital part in enhancing the wellbeing and independence of those in their care, ensuring their comfort, safety, and dignity are maintained at all times. A genuine interest in helping others combined with excellent communication skills is essential for this position.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
- Support individuals with their care plans, ensuring personalised needs are met effectively
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, promoting a positive environment
- Help with medication management and basic health monitoring under supervision
- Assist with light domestic tasks including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation
- Maintain accurate records of care provided in accordance with organisational policies
- Support clients in attending appointments or engaging in social activities, where applicable
- Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe environment for both clients and staff
Skills
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with clients from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team within a care environment
- Good organisational skills to manage care plans and daily routines effectively
- Basic IT skills for record keeping and documentation purposes
- Driving licence is desirable for supporting clients with transportation needs or home visits
- Previous experience working in a care home or providing home care is advantageous but not essential
- Fluency in English is required for effective communication with clients and team members
