We are currently looking to recruit a friendly, committed and passionate Violin & Piano Teacher to join our studio teaching team and help expand our availability for new student enquiries.
The successful candidate must be available to teach a minimum of 2 evenings, including:
- Tuesday & Friday from 4:00pm–8:00pm
This role is ideal for someone who is:
- Creative and enthusiastic about music education
- Able to deliver lessons in both 1:1 and small group formats
- Comfortable following a structured teaching programme (our Sweet Symphony Roadmaps), while also tailoring lessons to individual students
- Keen to contribute ideas – we actively involve teachers in the development and improvement of our progression frameworks
- Flexible and reliable, with excellent timekeeping
Being able to teach additional instruments is a bonus, and there is potential to increase hours as the studio continues to grow.
Main Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality lessons in violin and piano (both 1:1 and small groups)
- Follow the school’s structured teaching roadmap, adapting as needed for each student's learning style
- Motivate and encourage students to develop their skills and confidence
- Prepare students for music exams where appropriate
- Use our online portal to provide regular lesson feedback to students and parents
Pay Structure
We operate a flat-rate monthly tuition model rather than an hourly pay system. Teachers are paid 60% of each student’s monthly tuition fee.
This means your income is predictable and not affected by shorter months or occasional absences within the term structure. Our flat-rate system is based on delivering a minimum of 14 lessons per term, in line with our studio calendar.
Equivalent hourly earnings vary depending on whether you are teaching 1:1 or small group (2:1) lessons.

Essential Requirements
- Strong ability on both violin and piano (Grade 8 standard or above preferred)
- Experience teaching children and adults
- Excellent timekeeping and reliability
- Good written and spoken communication skills
- Able to follow a structured teaching programme while adapting to student needs
- Willingness to contribute to curriculum development
- Able to work independently while being part of a wider team
Desirable Qualifications/Experience
- Music degree or diploma
- Experience working with children with special educational needs
- Experience in a variety of musical genres
- Teaching qualification or previous teaching assistant role
- Comfortable using digital tools (lesson notes portal, scheduling software)
Certificates Required (before start date)
- Enhanced DBS Certificate (or registered on the Update Service)
- Public Liability Insurance
- Safeguarding Training (we can help organise this if needed)
- Professional Indemnity Insurance (recommended)
