Main Purpose of the Role
We’re looking for a skilled Assembly Fitter to join our dynamic production team. In this hands-on role, you will assemble complex engineering machinery to exacting standards using technical drawings, hand and power tools, and precision measuring equipment. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with mechanical assembly experience to contribute to our industry-leading products.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble agricultural and industrial machinery using technical drawings and specifications
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and measurement devices
- Configure equipment based on the materials used in construction
- Perform routine equipment checks and ensure proper setup
- Follow health and safety regulations and wear required PPE
- Conduct quality inspections to meet production standards
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues
- Collaborate effectively with fellow engineers and trade professionals
Person Specification
Qualifications and Background
Essential
- City & Guilds or equivalent engineering qualifications preferred
- Apprentice-trained or demonstrable hands-on experience in mechanical assembly
- Bench fitting or mechanical fitting certification a plus
- Working knowledge of safe operating procedures
- Confidence using overhead cranes (training provided)
- Proficiency in welding is beneficial
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Experience within machinery manufacturing, engineering, or industrial production environments.
