G&D's is a local, independent, family owned "chain" of 3 Oxford based cafes. We make our own ice cream, artisan bagel sandwiches, fresh waffles and baked goodies, and serve JCT's locally roasted coffee, made especially for us. We've been around for over 30 years!
As a Cafe Team Leader, you will be the driving force behind creating an exceptional customer experience while leading a dynamic team in a fast-paced cafe environment. Your energetic leadership will ensure smooth daily operations, high-quality food and beverage service, and a welcoming atmosphere for guests. You will inspire and manage team members, uphold food safety standards, and foster a positive, collaborative workplace that encourages growth and excellence. MUST HAVE WEEKEND & EVENING AVAILABILITY - we're open until 11pm daily, closing shifts finish between 11:30pm-11:45pm.
Duties
- Part-time (min 25 hours) to full time (45 hours)
- Starts out as cafe team member for 3-4 weeks, and if suitable for team leader role, full on the job training provided, including Level 2 Food Safety and Allergy Training, shadowing an experienced supervisor
- Lead daily cafe operations, ensuring efficient workflow and outstanding customer service
- Supervise and motivate team members to deliver top-quality food preparation, serving, and hospitality experiences
- Oversee food safety protocols, maintaining cleanliness, proper food handling, and compliance with health regulations
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and monitor stock to prevent shortages or waste
Skills
- Proven supervising or team management experience in a restaurant or cafe setting
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide a diverse team
- Hands-on experience with food production, kitchen operations, and hospitality services
- Familiarity with barista skills is a plus
- Exceptional communication skills to coordinate effectively with colleagues and customers
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a lively environment while maintaining attention to detail

Pay: £12.71-£13.75 per hour
