Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently handling materials, managing stock, and supporting shipping and receiving operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience to develop their skills within a fast-paced environment.
As Warehouse Operative you will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth flow of goods and maintaining high standards of quality control. Candidates should be physically fit, organised, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Handling materials safely and efficiently, including loading and unloading goods from lorries
- Operating forklift trucks and other warehouse machinery (training provided)
- Managing stock levels to track inventory accurately
- Picking and packing orders with attention to detail to ensure correct items are dispatched
- Assisting with shipping and receiving processes, including documentation and labelling
- Conducting quality control checks on incoming and outgoing goods
- Ensuring health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times during daily operations
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is essential, with groupage experience advantageous
- B1 FLT licence essential. B3 and Tug qualifications advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the shift
- Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail in picking, packing, and stock management
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team or independently
- Physical fitness to handle demanding tasks such as load & unload activities over extended periods
The role be on a split shift basis 0800-1600 hrs / 1000-1800 hrs on a weekly rota. On call with allowance will also be expected.
