Build Products That Keep Britain Connected
At Hughes Electronics, we don't just manufacture products. We build the specialist telecommunications equipment that helps keep the UK's mobile networks running.
Every cable, connector and assembly that leaves our workshop supports critical communications infrastructure. That's why quality, precision and attention to detail matter so much.
We're looking for someone who enjoys making things, takes pride in doing a job properly and wants to develop specialist technical skills in a growing British manufacturing business.
If you naturally keep yourself busy, enjoy working with your hands and like seeing the results of your work at the end of the day, we'd love to hear from you.
About the Role
As a Production & Assembly Technician, you'll become part of a skilled manufacturing team producing high-quality telecommunications products for customers across the UK.
This is a hands-on role where no two days are exactly the same. You'll receive full training and develop specialist skills while working with experienced colleagues who take real pride in what they do.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Building and assembling specialist telecommunications products
- Preparing and terminating copper and fibre optic cables
- Using hand tools and specialist production equipment
- Following detailed assembly instructions and engineering standards
- Carrying out quality checks throughout the manufacturing process
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop
- Working with colleagues to achieve production targets and customer deadlines
- Looking for better, safer and more efficient ways of working
Every product leaving our workshop represents Hughes Electronics. We believe anything worth building is worth building properly.
Who We're Looking For
We're interested in attitude as much as experience.
You'll fit in well here if you:
- Enjoy working with your hands and building things
- Naturally keep yourself busy and enjoy a productive day's work
- Have excellent attention to detail
- Take pride in producing work to a consistently high standard
- Take ownership and look for solutions instead of waiting to be asked
- Enjoy learning new skills and continually improving
- Work well as part of a team and support those around you
- Are reliable, dependable and someone others can count on
We're looking for people who care about the quality of their work and enjoy the satisfaction of getting things right.
Experience
Experience in any of the following would be an advantage:
- Manufacturing or production
- Mechanical or electrical assembly
- Soldering
- Fibre optic cable termination
- Copper cable termination
- Using hand tools and workshop equipment
Don't worry if you don't have experience in all of these areas. If you have the right attitude, a willingness to learn and pride in your work, we'll provide the training you need.
What We Offer
- Full-time, permanent position
- Competitive salary
- Company pension
- Free on-site parking
- Full training and ongoing development
- Opportunities to learn specialist manufacturing skills
- Career progression within a growing British manufacturer
- A supportive team where ideas, initiative and high standards are valued

Why Join Hughes Electronics?
We're a growing British manufacturer with a reputation for quality, innovation and outstanding customer service.

If you're looking for more than just another production job, we'd love to hear from you.
