Role Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Coding Tutor to deliver high-quality STEM sessions to primary school children (ages 5–9). The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and technology, with the ability to simplify complex concepts into fun, interactive activities.
You will be responsible for delivering structured sessions using Scratch Junior, Bloxels and Minecraft Coding ensuring all students are engaged, safe, and learning effectively.
These session usually happen after school hours in the afternoon between 3-4pm
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging, age-appropriate robotics and coding sessions in primary schools and holiday camps
Facilitate hands-on learning using STEM kits
Adapt teaching style to suit different age groups and abilities
Manage classroom behaviour in a positive and professional manner
Set up and pack away equipment before and after sessions
Ensure safeguarding and health & safety procedures are followed at all times
Provide feedback on student progress when required
Represent ComputerXplorers professionally when interacting with schools, parents, and partners
Requirements
Experience working with children (teaching, tutoring, coaching, or similar)
Background in STEM, coding, or robotics
Confident in managing groups of primary-aged children
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Reliable, punctual, and well-organised
Enhanced DBS check
Right to work in the UK
Desirable Skills
Experience with educational tools such as Scratch, micro:bit, LEGO WeDo/Spike, or mBots, Minecraft and Bloxels
Teaching qualification or relevant degree (Education, Engineering, Computer Science, etc.)
Experience delivering workshops or extracurricular activities
What We Offer
Competitive hourly rate £20- £22 p/h
The club runs every week on Tuesday. Currently the requirement is only for one club one day per week but there is a possibility of adding more clubs.
