Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Chip Shop Assistant to join our team. This role involves assisting with food preparation, serving customers, and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook traditional chip shop favourites, ensuring quality and consistency
- Serve customers efficiently at the counter, taking orders and processing payments
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area, adhering to food safety standards
- Assist with stock replenishment and inventory management
- Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly and addressing their needs promptly
- Assist with general cleaning duties to uphold hygiene standards throughout the shop
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation, restaurant service, or kitchen work is advantageous but not essential
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and procedures is preferred
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Strong organisational skills with good time management abilities
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy environment
- Friendly demeanour with excellent communication skills
- Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities as required
