J. Heath & Son is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic full time apprentice butcher to join our friendly team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to start or develop a career in butchery. We're looking for a candidate who really enjoys working with the public, who is excited at the prospect of selling and working in a shop environment. The right candidate will be committed to delivering excellent customer service, while learning the skills of the trade in a hands on environment.
Duties
- Serving the public with enthusiasm and a desire to sell, providing excellent customer service at all times.
- Assisting with the preparation and cutting of various meats under supervision, ensuring precision and safety.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the work area in accordance with food safety regulations.
- Learning proper handling, storage, and disposal of meat products to ensure freshness and hygiene.

- Strong interest in butchery and willingness to learn
- Reliability and preparedness for early starts
- Enthusiasm, energy and a dynamic approach to work
While experience is welcome, it is not essential - full training will be provided for the right candidate. We work a six day, 40 hour week with early starts, it is hard work but you will learn lifelong skills.
Following a successful probation period, we will offer the opportunity to undertake formal training at Plumpton College to further develop your skills and career.
Pay: £16,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
