Activities Assistant
Chesford Grange Care Home is a 74-bedded home situated in the Heart of Stoke-On-Trent, located in Bentilee. Our service includes the provision of care for a wide range of residents with varied needs from residential, nursing, palliative, respite, and dementia care.
The role as Activities Assistant will include, but not be limited to:
- Support residents in daily planned activities, encouraging participation and inclusion.
- Assist residents with mobility or other needs during activities and outings.
- Assist residents during the mealtime experience.
- Promote positive engagement, especially for those with cognitive or behavioural challenges.
- Encourage hobbies and individual interests alongside group activities.
- Help with activity setup, risk assessments, and maintaining safe practices.
- Record resident participation and report any concerns to senior staff.
- Uphold dignity, respect, and confidentiality at all times.
- Support seasonal events and home-wide celebrations.
- Take on the responsibility of acting as a Key Worker for a designated resident, offering consistent support and advocacy tailored to their individual needs and preferences.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with adults in nursing, dementia or residential care settings
- Willingness to learn and undertake training.
- Experience with older adults or in a care setting is desirable.
- A caring attitude and a genuine interest in supporting others.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
