About Burnt House Vineyard
Burnt House Vineyard is a family-run vineyard set in the heart of the Suffolk countryside, producing award-winning still and sparkling wines. Our Cellar Door and Tasting Room welcomes visitors for tours, drop-in wine tastings, and wine served alongside a menu of locally sourced produce platters, including cheese and charcuterie designed to complement our wines.
Throughout the year we host a range of food experiences and events including pizza nights, picnics in the vines, and guided vineyard tours during the summer months.
The Role
We are looking for a highly motivated Front of House Supervisor/Key Holder to join our friendly and passionate team. This role plays an important part in ensuring our guests receive a warm welcome and an excellent visitor experience. The successful candidate will share our enthusiasm for wine and hospitality, delivering service with knowledge, passion, and an approachable attitude.
The Front of House Key Holder will support the Front of House Managers in the daily running of the tasting room, helping to maintain high service standards and ensuring smooth operations during opening hours and events.
Our tasting room will open Thursday to Sunday, with additional mid-week events throughout the year. This is a part-time position, with the opportunity for additional hours during the summer months when events and extended opening hours increase demand.
Kitchen Service times
· Thursday: 5:00pm – 8:30pm
· Friday: 12:00pm – 3:30pm & 5:00pm – 8:30pm
· Saturday: 12:00pm – 3:30pm & 5:00pm – 8:30pm
· Sunday: 12:00pm – 3:30pm
Key Responsibilities
· Act as the first point of contact for visitors to Burnt House Vineyard, providing a warm welcome and ensuring a smooth and enjoyable customer experience in the tasting room.
· Deliver table service and bar service, supporting the day-to-day front of house operations.
· Prepare barista-style coffees (training provided).
· Assist with events and seasonal activities held at the vineyard throughout the year.
· Respond to customer enquiries and resolve issues in a professional and courteous manner.
· Lead and support the front of house team during shifts, helping to maintain high service standards and assisting management when required.
· Work effectively as part of a collaborative team environment.
· Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the venue, ensuring compliance with all food safety and health and safety regulations.
· Demonstrate strong organisational skills and effective time management.
· Carry out opening and closing procedures, including end-of-day cashing up and reconciliation.
· Act as a key holder, assisting with the secure opening and closing of the venue.
· Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the vineyard, its history, and the wines we produce(training provided).
· Undertake other reasonable duties as required to support the needs of the business.
Please note: Applicants must be over 18 years of age due to the service of alcohol.
From time to time, you may also be asked to undertake additional duties to support the operational needs of the business.
About Us
We are looking for someone with a genuine enthusiasm for delivering exceptional customer service, combined with a passion for wine, food, and hospitality. Previous experience in a key holder or supervisory role within hospitalityis essential.
As the first point of contact for our visitors, you will have strong communication skills, a welcoming and professional manner, and a clear understanding of what great hospitality looks like. You will also have an eagerness to learn about our vineyard and the wines we produce, as all team members act as ambassadors for the Burnt House brand.
You do not need to be a wine expert, but an interest in wine and a willingness to develop your knowledgeis important.
Due to our rural location, a driving licence is advisable.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated and organised, supporting the daily operation of the tasting room, including opening and closing procedures. You will bring strong organisational and communication skills, along with a passion for ensuring every visitor receives an outstanding experience.
Pay: From £13.00 per hour
