Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic After School Club Sport Coach to lead and inspire children in various sporting activities. The successful candidate will organise engaging sports sessions that promote teamwork, physical activity, and fun. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop coaching skills while making a positive impact on young people's health and well-being.
Duties
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate sports activities and games for children after school hours
- Encourage participation, teamwork, and sportsmanship among pupils
- Ensure the safety of all participants during activities by adhering to health and safety guidelines
- Maintain organised equipment and ensure the sports area is clean and safe before and after sessions
- Foster a positive environment that promotes confidence, enjoyment, and skill development in sport
- Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and pupils regarding programme activities and progress
- Assist in organising sports events or competitions as required
Requirements
- Proven experience in sports coaching or teaching children in a school or community setting
- Strong knowledge of various sports and physical activities suitable for children
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate young participants
- Organised, reliable, and able to manage groups of children effectively
- Ability to work flexibly during after school hours, typically in the afternoons
- A recognised coaching qualification or relevant teaching experience is desirable but not essential
- A commitment to safeguarding policies and promoting inclusive participation in sport
