Overview
We are seeking an energetic and dynamic Clubhouse Manager to lead the daily operations of Vicars Cross Golf Club. This key role involves overseeing all clubhouse activities, guest and visiting golfers, managing both bar and catering staff ensuring a welcoming, seamless experience for all members and visitors. As a Clubhouse Manager, you will be the driving force behind creating an inviting environment that promotes outstanding service and quality members experience.
Main Purpose
- Overall responsibility for the scheduling and management of a flexible work force, ensuring the club’s uniform policy is strictly adhered to.
- Recruit, train and monitor all clubhouse staff to ensure they deliver an efficient and courteous service to members, guests and visitors to the club.
- Ensure the highest standard of cleanliness, hygiene and tidiness is maintained throughout the interior of the clubhouse and all external areas in the immediate vicinity.
- Monitor bar stocking procedures, ensuring control measures are in place and reported on.
- Supervise and ensure efficient processes are in place for all ordering, invoicing and stocktakes.
- Delivery of functions club functions
- Be proactive in maximising sales, generating revenue and monitoring margins.
- Consult with the Head Chef in regard to any kitchen matters that might impact the clubhouse.
- Act as an integral part of the management team and report to the General Manager on your area of responsibility.
- Oversee all operational and functional areas of the clubhouse including opening and closing of the clubhouse, as well as general upkeep, security and health and safety procedures.
- Be responsible for business planning and budget control.
- Demonstrate excellent leadership and technical skills within a hospitality environment, always providing complete customer & member satisfaction.
- Implement Board policies as directed by the General Manager.
- Ensure all staff receive appropriate training and instruction and monitor progress with an appropriate appraisal scheme.
- Supervise all bar and kitchen staff ensuring they conform to current health and safety and other relevant legislation and codes of conduct for employees.
- Suggest ideas and implement improvements for developing the catering and bar business.
- Maintain strict security of the clubhouse.
- To ensure and undertake all works for the cleanliness and correct operation of the cellar facility, to ensure the highest quality beer products are served to customers.
- To keep records of all wastage and stock lost through whatever source.
- Take responsibility to rectify and report on hazardous situations, accidents and near misses.
- Be familiar with first aid and fire and emergency procedures and actively enforce these.
People
· leading a team of contractual, part time, seasonal and casual staff. Managing staff levels to financial targets set.
· Providing a 3 weekly rolling staff rota
· Recruiting, training and retaining staff through support and development programme
· Supervise team with all areas of bar operation and clubhouse facility.
Operations
· Run a monthly business meeting with GM to review performance and forecast sales targets and development plans.
· Ongoing review of business operations. That being food offering, drinks offers and club house guest experience.
· Plan for seasonal tailored offers - events - food and drinks
· Plan and deliver function space growth plan in line with KPI measurements.
· Marketing plans in place, managed, delivered and reviewed.
· Build and manage a professional relationship with internal and external stakeholders, (customers and suppliers)
Finance
· Lead and drive on sales turnover growth
· Manage stock control and profit percentages
· Manage reconciliation of till systems and stock balances
· Monitor for ongoing issues and resolve
· Oversee the business procedures for department cash handling and security
· Monitor costs and identify cost saving opportunities
· Ensure all legislation requirements for bar operation and clubhouse are met
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
- Food safety & hygiene for catering.
- First aid.
- Excellent IT skills and competencies.
- Personal licence holder would be advantageous but not essential.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
Pay: £36,000.00-£39,000.00 per year
