Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Night Class 1 International Driver to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating cargo across international routes, ensuring timely delivery of goods while maintaining compliance with all transportation regulations. The ideal candidate will possess extensive commercial driving experience, particularly with flatbed loads, and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and professionalism. Shift Pattern - ALL NIGHT SHIFTS
(This role will have regular nights out, it is NOT Tramping out all week)
3 week rolling shift pattern
Week 1 – Monday to Thursday (2 Nights out) 4 days worked
Week 2 – Sunday to Friday (3 Nights out)
Week 3 – Monday to Friday (Domestic Work, night shifts no nights out)
Responsibilities
- Operate Class 1 Vehicles for international freight deliveries, adhering strictly to safety protocols and traffic laws.
- Plan and execute efficient routes across borders, coordinating with dispatch for timely pickups and deliveries.
- Secure cargo properly to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate records of driving hours, cargo documentation, and delivery confirmations.
- Communicate effectively with clients, customs officials, and team members to facilitate smooth operations.
- Handle unforeseen issues such as route changes or delays professionally and promptly.
- Ensure all paperwork related to international shipments is complete, accurate, and compliant with regulations.
- Uphold company safety standards by reporting any vehicle issues or incidents immediately.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay current with industry regulations and best practices.
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 Commercial Driver’s License
- Proven experience in commercial driving
- Demonstrated expertise in securing flatbed loads safely and effectively.
- Delivery driver experience preferred, with a focus on international freight logistics.
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations across different countries and regions.
- Excellent driving record with a commitment to safety and compliance.
- Ability to operate GPS systems and plan efficient routes for international deliveries.
- Good communication skills for liaising with clients, customs officials, and team members.
- Physically capable of handling cargo securing tasks and performing vehicle inspections.
