Key duties
- Maintaining high standards of plant quality and presentation, including watering and caring for stock
- Creating and replenishing eye-catching merchandising displays, including seasonal promotional displays
- Delivering friendly and positive customer service, assisting with customer purchases and enquiries
- Moving and handling plant stock safely, as well as processing deliveries
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness in the department
- Assisting with seasonal changes in the department, such as Christmas tree sales in November and December
- Foster a positive team environment aligned with company values
- Willingness to help in other departments, including tills, when required
Requirements
- Experience of working in a fast paced retail environment is essential, ideally in garden centres
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to lift and carry e.g. stocking up, lifting objects to scan in at the till
- Good communication and customer service skills essential
- Plant knowledge or horticultural experience is desirable but not essential
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends
Pay: Up to £12.71 per hour
