We work at pace in a rapidly growing sector, and our Project Delivery team is central to getting projects delivered on time, on budget and to the standard our clients expect.
Role Purpose
The Project Manager will assist and support the delivery of multiple projects within the Project Delivery team. You will take ownership of budgets, workforces, suppliers and project systems across live projects, keeping delivery on track and reporting progress, risks and issues to the Head of Delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery
- Support the delivery of multiple concurrent EV charging infrastructure projects from mobilisation through to completion and handover
- Monitor project budgets, tracking spend against forecast and flagging variances early
- Coordinate site workforces, including direct operatives and subcontracted labour, to ensure resource is aligned with programme requirements
- Manage day-to-day supplier and subcontractor relationships, monitoring performance, quality and delivery against agreed terms
- Track project programmes and milestones, working to strict deadlines and escalating risks to delivery dates promptly
- Follow the company's project gate process at each stage of delivery, ensuring gates are completed and evidenced before progression
- Support permitting, streetworks and utility connection activity where required, liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Attend sites as required to review progress, resolve issues and maintain delivery standards
- Ensure projects are delivered in line with health and safety requirements and company policies and procedures
- Take ownership of the preparation, submission and completion of IDNO completion packs, ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete and submitted in line with adoption and energisation timescales
Client & Reporting
- Manage client expectations through clear, proactive communication and regular progress updates
- Prepare and present accurate project reporting to the Head of Delivery, covering progress, cost, risk and resource
Systems & Administration
- Maintain accurate, detailed and up-to-date project records in the company CRM (Notion), ensuring information is current and accessible to the wider team at all times
- Keep project files organised and correctly structured within company systems (Google Drive), following established filing conventions
- Set up and maintain project communication channels (Slack) promptly and correctly at project mobilisation
- Complete thorough, documented handovers ahead of any planned absence so that live projects continue without disruption
- Use quieter periods proactively for professional development, process improvement and preparation for upcoming projects
Person Specification
Essential
- Proven experience managing the delivery of multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience within the EV charging infrastructure sector
- Ability to work to strict deadlines and manage competing priorities
- Experience monitoring and working within project budgets
- Strong client-facing skills with the ability to manage expectations professionally
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail, including disciplined record-keeping and file management
- Computer literate and confident using CRM, project management, reporting and office software
- Reliable and accountable, with consistent punctuality and ownership of outcomes
- Receptive to feedback and coaching, with a positive and professional attitude
- Self-motivated, with a demonstrable commitment to continuous professional development
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites as required
Desirable
- ICP (Independent Connection Provider) background advantageous but not essential
- Knowledge of streetworks, permitting or utility connections
- Experience working with subcontracted civil engineering suppliers
- Experience preparing IDNO completion packs or working with IDNO/DNO adoption processes
Pay: £45,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
