Responsibilities
- Prepare a wide variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and attention to detail
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety in all preparation areas
- Ensure the freshness and quality of ingredients by proper storage and handling
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy hours
- Innovate new sushi recipes and presentation styles to keep menus exciting and engaging
- Follow established recipes and portion controls to ensure consistency across all dishes
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring ingredient levels and notifying management of supply needs
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar role in a fast-paced restaurant environment
- Deep knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, knife skills, and ingredient pairing
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and sanitation practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude and strong communication abilities
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Nice-to-have skills include familiarity with modern sushi trends, creative presentation skills, and certification in food safety or culinary arts
