Duties
- Assist in food preparation, ensuring all ingredients are prepared according to recipes and standards
- Support senior chefs in cooking and plating dishes to maintain consistency and quality
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, adhering to food safety regulations
- Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages or replenishment needs to the team
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff
- Contribute to the development of new menu items by providing creative ideas and feedback
- Assist with supervising junior kitchen staff when required, fostering a collaborative team environment
- Participate in kitchen organisation, including cleaning schedules and equipment maintenance
Requirements
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen or hospitality setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Basic understanding of food production, cooking techniques, and presentation standards
- Supervising experience or leadership qualities are advantageous for career progression
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a positive attitude towards learning
