Job Overview
We are seeking energetic and dedicated HGV 1 Drivers to join our team for both day and night shifts. This role offers an exciting opportunity to operate large commercial vehicles, and deliver goods efficiently across various locations. This role would suit those who would like to be self employed and we accept LTD drivers.
Some handball is required as this is supermarket deliveries so the driver must be willing to help with the unloading and needs to have a decent level of fitness.
This role will involve some weekend work and bank holidays when required.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies
- Load, secure, and transport goods to designated destinations with precision and care
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
- Plan routes effectively to optimize delivery schedules and meet deadlines
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery logs and inspection reports
- Communicate professionally with dispatch teams regarding delivery statuses or any issues encountered during shifts
- Maintain a clean and well-maintained vehicle to uphold safety standards at all times
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) driving license with a clean driving record
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial driving
- Ability to handle physical tasks associated with loading/unloading cargo when required
- Strong communication skills and a professional attitude on the road
- Flexibility to work both day shifts and night shifts based on operational needs
- Basic understanding of route planning and navigation tools
