Housekeeper – The Griffin Inn, NewquayJob Summary
The Griffin Inn, Newquay is looking for a dedicated, reliable and hardworking Housekeeper to join our friendly hospitality team.
This is a full-time position working 5 days per week, offering good rates of pay.
As part of our housekeeping team, you will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout our guest bedrooms, bathrooms and communal areas. We are looking for someone with a great eye for detail who takes pride in their work and understands the importance of creating a clean, comfortable and welcoming environment for our guests.
Responsibilities
- Clean and prepare guest bedrooms and bathrooms to a high standard
- Make beds and change bed linen and towels
- Replenish toiletries, refreshments and other guest amenities
- Dust and polish furniture and surfaces
- Vacuum carpets, sweep and mop floors
- Clean and maintain communal and public areas of the hotel
- Dispose of rubbish and recycling appropriately
- Ensure rooms are completed efficiently and ready for arriving guests
- Report maintenance issues, damage or faults promptly
- Keep housekeeping and cleaning areas organised
- Use cleaning products and equipment safely and correctly
- Follow all relevant health and safety procedures
What We’re Looking For
- Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience is preferred, particularly within a hotel or hospitality environment
- Excellent attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Good time-management and organisational skills
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills when dealing with colleagues and guests
- Knowledge of cleaning products and supplies would be beneficial
- Able to manage the physical requirements of a busy housekeeping role
- A positive attitude and willingness to get stuck in
