TECHNICAL SUPPORT (APPEALS AND PERMITS)
The role sits within the Council's Parking Service, working in the Notice Processing team. The role of the Technical Support Officer will help manage Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) appeals that are issued against vehicles parking in contravention of a parking restriction and driving in bus lanes. The role also includes processing permit applications and statutory correspondence associated with parking legislation.
The core responsibilities of the post-holder are to review appeals that have been submitted by the motorist, processing statutory documents and manage permit applications. They will be expected to meet legal deadlines, make clear and consistent decisions, and maintain accurate records to support the Parking Service.
The successful candidate
Alongside the main duties, the successful candidate will support debt recovery process, respond to public enquiries relating to parking appeals and keep the PCN notice processing databases up to date.
We are looking for someone who can communicate well, handle difficult conversations with the public and work accurately with data. No formal qualifications are required as training will be provided.
