Kitchen Assistant | Suffolk Lodge
30 hours per week - £24,791.39 FTE
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our residential care home team, Suffolk Lodge, located in central Wokingham. You will support our Cook to prepare nutritious meals for the people we support. Your work will help maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety in our kitchen.
You will either have or be willing to gain a City and Guilds level 1 in Hospitality and Catering, as well as aFood Safety level 2.
You will need to work to a rota that covers every other weekend. The shift timings are 7.30am - 2.30pm and 10am to 5pm the successful applicant will be able to work both these shift patterns.

Key Responsibilities
Assist with basic food preparation.
- Clean kitchen equipment and dining areas.
- Wash dishes, cutlery, and cooking utensils.
- Store food deliveries safely and correctly.
- Follow all health and safety regulations.
- Interact warmly and respectfully with the people we support.
Requirements
Experience in a commercial kitchen preferred.
- Knowledge of basic food hygiene rules.
- Ability to work well in teams.
- Strong communication and listening skills.
- Reliable approach to timekeeping and shifts.
- Pass a mandatory background check (DBS).
