Job Overview
We are seeking a CNC machine Programmer/Operator with a good mechanical background and least 3 years experience to join our multi-skilled team. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for programming and operating CNC machinery to produce high-quality custom ball screw components used across industry - aerospace, oil & gas, medical, defence, automotive. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work with various steel grades. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment, be familiar with planning and executing their own work on individual projects and within a collaborative team environment and be proficient in programming and running CNC machines.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimise CNC programmes for milling, machining centres and other CNC equipment
- Set up and operate CNC machinery, ensuring precision and quality of finished products
- Conduct regular maintenance on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance
- Collaborate with engineering teams to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Utilise hand tools and materials handling techniques to assist in the production process
- Perform quality checks on completed components using basic math skills for measurements
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
Skills
- Experience with CNC controls (FANUC / SIEMENS)
- Experience using and understanding G-code
- Familiarity with milling machine operation and tooling requirements
- Excellent mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools
- Ability to perform assembly tasks with attention to detail
- Basic math skills for accurate measurements and calculations
