As we expand our team, we are seeking a passionate and experienced Special Education Needs (SEN) Teacher to join us in making a positive impact on the lives of our students. Our SEN School is located in Nottingham, catering to pupils aged 5-17 with ASC, ADHD, MLD & SEMH. You will be teaching a varied curriculum, adapted to the individual groups needs.
This position is for someone looking for a new permanent role, working on a 12 week temp-perm contract.
Responsibilities:
As an SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting and enriching the educational experience of students with special educational needs. Your responsibilities will include:
- Individualized Instruction: Plan and deliver tailored lessons to meet the diverse needs of students with special educational needs, ensuring that each child's learning goals are addressed.
- Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Conduct ongoing assessments to identify students' strengths and challenges, and regularly monitor and report on their progress.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other teachers, support staff, and parents to create a collaborative and inclusive learning environment.
- Adaptation of Materials: Modify and adapt teaching materials and resources to accommodate the individual learning styles and needs of students.
- IEP Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special educational needs.
- Behavioural Support: Implement effective strategies for managing and supporting the behavioural and emotional needs of students.
- Professional Development: Stay informed about the latest developments in special education and continuously seek opportunities for professional growth.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Qualifications: A recognised teaching qualification and relevant qualifications in Special Education Needs.
- Experience: Proven experience working as an SEN Teacher, with a track record of successfully supporting students with a range of special educational needs.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and individual needs.
- Empathy and Patience: A compassionate and patient approach to supporting students with special educational needs.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for students.
- DBS Clearance: Successful applicants will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
