About Mainprize Offshore
Mainprize Offshore is a market-leading Crew Transfer Vessel (CTV) owner and operator supporting the offshore energy industry. With a heritage spanning over 350 years, we are proud of our reputation for quality, reliability and customer service.
Our business is growing, and we are looking for an experienced Procurement & Supply Chain Manager to develop and lead our procurement function.
The Role
This is a strategic management role, rather than a purely transactional purchasing position.
You will be responsible for developing a clear procurement and supply chain strategy that supports our operational, commercial and future growth objectives. Working closely with Directors, Finance, Operations, Technical and Engineering, you will ensure we have the right suppliers, systems, processes and stock in place to support safe, reliable and commercially effective vessel operations.
You will also lead and develop the Procurement team, establishing clear accountability, strong supplier relationships and a culture of continuous improvement.
As the business continues to grow, this role will have the opportunity to contribute to wider management and business planning and become part of the junior management group as the company reaches full operational maturity.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a procurement strategy aligned with business growth and operational requirements.
- Lead supplier selection, negotiation, contract management and supplier performance.
- Identify cost-saving and cost-avoidance opportunities, focusing on total cost of ownership rather than price alone.
- Develop effective inventory and supply chain strategies, including critical spares and stock control.
- Improve procurement processes, systems, reporting and governance, including development of the MARAD inventory system.
- Manage international suppliers, logistics and relevant import/export requirements.
- Lead, coach and develop the Procurement team, creating a high-performing and accountable function.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders to anticipate requirements, manage supply-chain risk and support commercial decision-making.
- Provide procurement insight, reporting and recommendations to Directors and the wider management team.
About You
We are looking for a commercially astute and strategic procurement professional who is confident enough to challenge existing ways of working and build something better.
You will have:
- Significant experience in Procurement, Purchasing or Supply Chain management.
- Experience developing procurement strategies and improving procurement functions.
- Strong supplier negotiation, commercial and contract management experience.
- Proven people-management and team-development skills.
- Strong understanding of inventory and supply chain management.
- Excellent analytical and Excel skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management abilities.
- A proactive, structured and commercially focused approach.
- The confidence to work with senior stakeholders and challenge constructively.
Experience within maritime, offshore energy, offshore wind, engineering or another technical/operational environment would be highly advantageous.
A CIPS qualification or equivalent professional experience is desirable.
