NOW Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist SEND setting in Haydock.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs and who has experience working with students with autism.
We are looking for individuals who are interactive, engaging and able to build positive relationships with students to support both their learning and personal development.
The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support students with autism within the classroom and around the school setting
- Help create a positive, safe and engaging learning environment
- Work closely with teachers and support staff to meet individual student needs
- Encourage communication, independence and social development
- Use patience, creativity and consistency to support student progress
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children or young people with autism is essential
- A positive, engaging and proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to build trusting relationships with students
- Experience within a school or SEND setting is desirable
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
