Senior Forklift Engineer / Technical Support Engineer / Technical Trainer
Location - Office, Workshop & Field Based – Covering the South East
Salary - Up to £60,000 + Excellent Benefits (Salaried Position)
Working Hours - Monday–Friday | 8:00am–5:00pm
The Company
Our client is a well-established, family-run materials handling specialist with over 40 years of experience supplying, servicing and supporting forklift trucks and warehouse equipment across the South East.
Supporting a diverse fleet of electric, diesel and LPG forklift trucks, warehouse equipment and telehandlers, they have built an excellent reputation through technical expertise, outstanding customer service and investing in their engineers.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Forklift Engineer to become the technical lead within the business.
The Person
You’ll be an experienced Forklift or Materials Handling Engineer with strong electrical, hydraulic and mechanical diagnostic skills who enjoys solving technical problems and supporting others.

You’ll be confident:
- Diagnosing complex electrical, hydraulic and mechanical faults.
- Mentoring and supporting engineers.
- Delivering technical training and coaching.
- Providing excellent customer service and technical advice.
A full UK driving licence is essential.
The Role
This is a varied and rewarding position combining hands-on engineering, technical support and practical training.
Working between the office, workshop and customer sites, you’ll act as the senior technical specialist, supporting engineers, resolving complex faults and helping to develop engineering standards across the business.
- Delivering product and technical training across a range of material handling equipment.
- Conducting engineer inductions and ongoing development programmes.
- Providing technical support and advanced fault-finding assistance to engineers.
- Diagnosing complex mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
- Carrying out servicing, repairs and commissioning when required.
- Mentoring apprentice and junior engineers.
- Supporting workshop operations and engineering best practice.
- Building strong customer relationships while providing expert technical advice.
- Occasional travel across the South East to support engineers and customers.
This is not a management role. It’s a hands-on technical position for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving difficult engineering problems, sharing knowledge and helping develop the next generation of engineers.

- Full engineering induction covering mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems, together with health & safety.
- Product-specific training across the company’s materials handling equipment range.
- Ongoing manufacturer-led technical development.
- Structured Train the Trainer programme.
