Part-Time Assembly Technician
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Part-Time Bronze Assembly Technician to join our workshop team. The successful candidate will assemble high-quality bronze portlights, marine lights, and other bronze cast products manufactured by the company. This is a hands-on role requiring precision, mechanical aptitude, and experience operating conventional machine tools. This job offers the chance to work in the heart of a bustling harbour working closely with colleagues to deliver high level products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble bronze portlights, marine lights, and other bronze castings to company specifications.
- Carry out fitting, machining, drilling, tapping, polishing, and finishing operations as required.
- Operate manual lathes and milling machines to produce or modify components to precise tolerances.
- Inspect components during assembly to ensure quality standards are met.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Assist with workshop tasks as required to support production.
Skills and Experience Essential:
- Experience operating manual lathes and manual milling machines.
- Mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Good understanding of measuring equipment and tolerances.
- High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
