Assembly & Workshop Technician
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Part-Time Assembly Technician to join our workshop team. The successful candidate will assemble high-quality bronze portlights, marine lights, and other bronze cast products manufactured by the company. This is a hands-on role offering plenty of variety, working across assembly, fitting, finishing and general workshop tasks. You'll be part of a small, friendly team in the heart of a bustling harbour, helping to produce high-quality British-made marine products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble bronze portlights, marine lights, and other bronze cast products to company specifications.
- Carry out fitting, drilling, tapping, polishing, finishing and general workshop operations as required.
- Use a range of workshop tools and equipment to produce or modify components where needed.
- Inspect components during assembly to ensure quality standards are met.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Assist with a variety of workshop and production tasks to support the team.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing, engineering or similar hands-on environment.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Good understanding of measuring equipment and working to tolerances.
- High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience operating manual lathes and/or milling machines.
- Experience working with bronze, marine products or metal fabrication.

- Strong work ethic with pride in producing quality products.
- Flexible and willing to assist with a variety of workshop tasks.
