Glassworks London is an independent women’s fashion retailer founded in 2010, with design-led boutiques and a fast-moving product range refreshed regularly with new fashion. Our stores are not passive shop units. They are places where customers discover product, receive styling advice, build relationships with the team and experience Glassworks as a living brand.
THE ROLE
We are looking for a Senior Style Advisor to join our fashion retail team. This role is for a commercially driven seller who enjoys personal targets, high-value baskets, repeat customers, styling, product and active shop-floor selling. You will help customers discover product, build outfits, use the fitting room confidently and enjoy their time in store.
A Senior Style Advisor is not a mini-manager. The role exists to raise the commercial standard on the shop floor through strong personal selling, fitting-room conversion, basket-building, VIP/clienteling activity and visible example-setting. You should be able to sell confidently, support newer team members, notice standards issues and help keep the store visually strong and commercially active.
This is a higher-expectation sales role. We are looking for someone who wants to be one of the strongest sellers in the store, understands personal sales targets, enjoys building customer relationships and is motivated by converting footfall into revenue. If you are looking mainly for a quiet retail support role focused on tidying, transactions or general store standards, this will not be the right fit.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Warm greeting and active customer service.
Styling, fitting-room service and outfit-building.
Generating the team’s largest average baskets leveraging add-ons, basket-building and high-value selling where relevant.
Producing high VIP database and revenue growth via clienteling/VIP outreach and private appointments in store.
Product knowledge and confident brand explanation.
Customer relationship building and repeat-customer awareness.
VM maintenance, rails, tables, fitting rooms and presentation standards.
Replenishment, stockroom support and finding stock quickly.
Spotting and correcting VM or standards issues without waiting to be told.
Supporting new starters informally where appropriate.
Using quiet periods to improve the store.
WHAT GOOD LOOKS LIKE
You are one of the strongest customer-facing sellers on the floor.
You greet, re-approach and support customers actively.
You help customers use the fitting room confidently.
You build outfits and baskets without pressure.
You use product knowledge to create trust and excitement.
You keep the store visually strong and trade-ready.
You notice standards issues and act without waiting to be asked.
You set a strong example for newer team members.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALITIES
Strong retail, fashion, boutique, lifestyle or hospitality experience.
Confident, warm customer approach.
Strong styling and selling instincts.
Ability to build baskets without pressure.
Good product curiosity and visual taste.
Reliability, pace and maturity.
Pride in store standards and VM presentation.
Interest in progressing within a retail career ladder.
SELLING / SERVICE EXPECTATIONS
Senior Style Advisors are expected to be active, confident sellers. You should enjoy:
greeting customers warmly;
explaining the Glassworks range;
helping customers find pieces they love;
fitting-room support;
outfit-building;
add-ons and basket-building;
repeat-customer awareness;
using quiet periods productively.
This is not the right role for someone who is:
not motivated by personal sales targets;
uncomfortable being measured on revenue;
unable to explain how they personally improve trade;
waiting for customers to approach them rather than actively selling;
passive with customers;
only wants to tidy or process transactions;
not interested in selling, styling or fitting-room service;
weak on visual standards;
uncomfortable using quiet periods productively;
looking for casual weekend support without strong selling expectations.
