Contracted Hours: 37 hour contract with support in the oversight of 24/7 Service/s and on call responsibilities.
Ar Curam Ltd (Scotland) is a relatively young development in Scotland with an established sister Company in England. We provide care, support and accommodation for children and young people with complex needs, aged between 8-17 years old in small residential care homes where we aim to achieve excellent outcomes for the children and young people in our care.
We are currently looking for a Senior Residential Childcare worker for our 4 bedded home in Dunlop. In this role you will support the Operations Manager/Registered Manager along with the Assistant Manager and another Senior as part of the Leadership Team in the effective running of the service. The Leadership team will also be supported by a team of Residential Childcare Workers covering day and nightshift, as well as a Cook/Housekeeper with the oversight of the service by the Head of Service, Scotland.
In this role, reporting to the Operations/Residential Manager and Assistant Manager, you will support in ensuring the effective and efficient running of the home including a high standard of care and safeguarding for the young people. Confident in your decision making abilities, you will supporting in ensuring staff engagement, development and performance in their contribution to delivery of the service whilst working in line with Company Policy, National Care Standards and legislative frameworks.
Applicants must be passionate about effecting long term change in the lives of vulnerable children and young people by providing essential support that enables them to reach their full potential.
It is essential that applicants have a minimum of 2 years experience as Residential Childcare Worker, and ideally have experience at supervisory level.
Flexibility in terms of your approach to work is also essential in order to meet the needs of the service.
In addition, it is essential to have fully met both the practice and management qualifications in line with the SSSC qualification requirements relating to Residential Childcare Workers (eg SVQ 3/SQF 6/7 AND HNC/ Academic equivalent). Ideally you will also have an SQF Level 9 Children and Young People, and /or a practice qualification in the Management Category, however not essential to commence in this post. A driving licence is also preferable.
Successful applicants are also required to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of employment, and further maintain the professional registration and conditions of registration throughout employment.
