Electrical Design Engineer
Chemical Support Systems Ltd is an Employee-Owned Business, that has been trading for over 30 years. We design, manufacture and supply Chemical Dosing Equipment worldwide to a variety of Industries including Water Treatment, Pulp and Paper, Petrochemical, Pharmaceutical and Food & Beverage.
Our offices and workshop are based in Winsford, Cheshire.
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Design Engineer to join our engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of projects, supporting the design and delivery of electrical control systems from concept through to manufacture.
Working closely with Project Engineers and the wider engineering team, you will be responsible for producing high-quality electrical documentation, selecting components, and supporting project quotations to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and accurately.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and produce electrical schematics using industry-standard CAD software.
- Create and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Select and specify electrical components suitable for project requirements.
- Order electrical components and liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
- Work closely with Project Engineers to develop technical solutions and support project quotations.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards and customer specifications.
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation and revision control.
- Provide technical support during manufacturing, assembly, and commissioning as required.
- Assist in identifying cost-saving opportunities through component selection and design improvements.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure successful project delivery.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Electrical Engineering qualifications or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience creating electrical schematics using electrical CAD software (We use SolidWorks Electrical).
- Good understanding of electrical control systems & PLC-based control systems.
- Experience producing Bills of Materials.
- Knowledge of electrical components and their application.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable
- Knowledge of relevant electrical standards (e.g. BS EN 60204, IEC standards).
- Experience within machinery manufacturing, automation, or control panel design.
- SolidWorks 3D experience.

- Salary £45,000.00 to £55,000.00 pa depending on experience.
