Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and versatile Handyman to join our team, dedicated to maintaining and improving the functionality, safety, and aesthetic appeal of our facilities. In this role, you will perform a wide range of repair, maintenance, and fabrication tasks across various areas, ensuring that all aspects of the property are well-kept and operational. Your expertise will help create a safe, comfortable, and efficient environment for staff and visitors alike. Responsibilities
- Conduct repairs and maintenance across multiple disciplines including carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems, masonry, roofing, and painting.
- Install, repair, or replace fixtures such as doors, windows, cabinets, and appliances using hand tools and power tools.
- Perform routine inspections to identify issues with roofing, plumbing systems, electrical wiring, or structural elements; address problems promptly.
- Fabricate custom components or modifications using welding and fabrication techniques to meet specific project needs.
- Assist with construction projects by preparing sites, measuring materials accurately, and executing tasks efficiently.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and inspections completed to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Collaborate with team members or contractors on larger projects requiring specialized skills or additional expertise.
Requirements
- Proven experience in carpentry, roofing, construction painting, plumbing, masonry, welding, or electrical work.
- Proficiency with hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, chisels; power tools including drills and saws; and fabrication equipment.
- Strong knowledge of building codes and safety regulations related to construction and maintenance work.
- Ability to read blueprints or technical drawings for accurate project execution.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying issues before they escalate.
- Physical stamina to perform manual tasks in various environments; ability to lift heavy materials safely.
- Relevant certifications or licenses in trades such as electrical work or welding are preferred but not mandatory.
