Transport Planner – Andover
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum
Hours: Monday–Friday, 10:30am–8:00pm (30-minute lunch break)

The Role
An established and growing business within the fit-out and construction industry is looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join its busy logistics operation in Andover.
This is a key role within the transport team, responsible for the daily planning and routing of the company’s delivery fleet while acting as the vital link between drivers, sales, transport and customers.
The main objective is simple: ensure every delivery reaches site on time and in full, while operating the fleet as efficiently as possible.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and route the daily delivery schedule for the company’s own fleet.
- Communicate with drivers throughout the day and provide ongoing support.
- Liaise with the sales team regarding deliveries, timings and customer requirements.
- Organise additional and external transport where required, including pallet network deliveries.
- Arrange driver cover, including agency and temporary drivers.
- Prepare the following day’s routing, checking weights, delivery dates and any special requirements.
- Organise collections from suppliers and customer sites.
- Manage communication and feedback between drivers and the sales team.
- Consolidate orders and produce an efficient loading and delivery plan for the following day.
- Manage delivery issues and associated documentation, ensuring issues are communicated and resolved promptly.
- Ensure drivers arriving for collections are correctly booked in and prepared.
- Book deliveries and collections, including any specific or special requirements.
- Complete driver and vehicle information following the routing process, including start times, vehicle allocation and paperwork.
- Maintain accurate records relating to transport and delivery activity.
- Ensure transport operations remain efficient, compliant and customer-focused.
About You
The successful candidate will have previous experience within transport planning, logistics or fleet operations, with strong organisational and communication skills.
