Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our construction team. The successful candidate will support the quantity surveying department in managing costs, preparing estimates, and ensuring project budgets are maintained effectively. Essential
You must have previous experience working as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor on construction related projects. Ideally fit out , refurbishment and new build projects and live within 1 hour of Wolverhampton and have full Uk driving licence.

Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing cost estimates and budgets for construction projects
- Support the procurement process by obtaining quotations and analysing costs from suppliers and subcontractors
- Monitor project expenditure and ensure costs are kept within approved budgets
- Assist in the preparation of tender documentation and contract administration
- Conduct site visits to assess progress and verify quantities for billing purposes
- Maintain accurate records of project costs, variations, and changes
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure effective communication regarding financial matters
- Support in the preparation of interim valuations and final accounts
- Contribute to risk management by identifying potential cost overruns and recommending mitigation strategies
Requirements
- Proven interest or experience in quantity surveying or construction management
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Knowledge of cost control principles within construction projects
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite; experience with relevant software such as CostX or Bluebeam is advantageous
- A recognised qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field is desirable but not essential
- Willingness to learn and develop industry-specific skills

Pay: £28,455.34-£45,189.13 per year
