Shift details:
Mon-Thu, 2.30pm-1.30am (2 x 30 min unpaid breaks)
Role Summary:
A Warehouse Logistics Operative (FLT Driver) required to support all warehouse operations, including the safe and efficient handling of goods inwards and outwards. The role involves operating a forklift truck, loading and unloading deliveries, moving stock within the warehouse, and ensuring accurate order dispatch. Applicants should be reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work as part of a fast-paced logistics team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Main duties include dealing with deliveries (Goods In) from suppliers and Despatches (Goods Out) to customers.
- To ensure all goods loaded or unloaded match the relevant paperwork and any forms are completed correctly.
- Check all despatches are labelled correctly and in good condition and fill in appropriate paperwork.
- Storing and rotating stocks according to establish procedures.
- Good communication skills to be able to liaise with production, procurement and planning team members.
- Reporting any damages or missing goods to Warehouse Manager or Supervisor.
- Ability to work as part of a team (occasionally independent) and communicate tasks including moving between Goods In and Goods Out.
- Ability to use computer, advanced tasks will be trained.
- Assisting with warehouse inventory controls and procedures, typically using a handheld scanner.
- Keeping the working areas, environment, yard clean and tidy including maintaining equipment (BRC Audit Standard).
- Following workplace health and safety rules when handling goods.
- Ensuring efficient operations by adhering to operational procedures, rules and schedules.
Other duties as assigned:
The employee may be required to perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by their manager, supervisor or other authorised personnel. These duties and responsibilities may be added, modified, or eliminated to meet the organisation’s changing needs and business requirements.
Qualifications / Experience:
- Must hold a valid FLT licence and reach truck, scissor lift optional.
- Experience in a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment is desirable but not essential.
Skills and Abilities:
- Good general understanding of English and Maths.
- Good communication skills
- A confident level of computer literacy is required, with the ability to use warehouse systems and basic software for stock control
Physical Requirement:
This is a physically active role that requires flexibility to move around the site, operate machinery, heavy lifting, and handling materials in line with manual handling guidelines.
Work Environment:
Working in the factory environment there is a requirement to be flexible in your approach and work both inside and out as required. Fast manufacturing production environment.
