Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culin[ry team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen staff with various tasks, ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. Please note: This role is for 2 - 3 days per week
Duties
- Assist in meal preparation and food preparation tasks as directed by the head chef or kitchen manager.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.
- Support catering events by preparing ingredients and assisting with serving as needed.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene at all times.
- Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages to the kitchen manager.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food safety practices.
- Assist with kitchen duties such as removal of rubbish and washing dishes
Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment or restaurant is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and practices is essential.
- Experience in catering or meal preparation will be an advantage.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy setting.
- A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new techniques is crucial.
- Ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively with colleagues.
