About the Role
Blue Note London, a live music venue and restaurant in Covent Garden, is hiring an experienced Bookkeeper to own day-to-day finance for the business. You'll manage ledgers, reconciliations, payroll, and VAT reporting, working directly with senior management. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role with real scope to grow as the business does.
What You'll Do
- Daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations and journal entries
- Full accounts payable and receivable (purchase and sales ledgers) and general ledger maintenance
- Payroll processing and analysis
- Quarterly VAT returns and monthly tax/PAYE reporting
- Income, expenditure, stock, and cost/loss control analysis
- Year-end accounts preparation and support for tax filings
- Performance reporting and investor reporting
What We're Looking For
- Proven bookkeeping or accounts experience (AAT, part-qualified ACCA/CIMA, or equivalent hands-on experience welcomed)
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage — QuickBooks Online experience a strong plus
- Confident with VAT compliance and returns preparation
- Payroll processing experience; familiarity with TRONC/tronc administration a plus
- Strong Excel skills and high attention to detail
- Hospitality or restaurant/venue accounting experience is an advantage but not essential
