Join our dynamic team as a Kitchen Staff member, where your energy and passion for food will help create memorable dining experiences for our nursery children! In this role, you will be an essential part of the kitchen operations, assisting with meal preparation, food safety, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Your enthusiasm for cooking and serving will contribute to a lively, efficient environment that delights our nursery children.
This role includes laundry services and some cleaning work.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 2pm-6pm
Duties
- Assist with food preparation and cooking to ensure timely service of meals
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations, utensils, and equipment
- Follow food safety standards and hygiene protocols at all times
- Support events by preparing ingredients and assembling dishes
- Serve food to guests or staff in a courteous and professional manner
- Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and notifying supervisors of shortages
- Ensure all kitchen areas meet health regulations and safety guidelines
- Carry out washing, drying and putting away of nursery laundry according to nursery needs
- Carry out cleaning duties as per check list
Experience
- Previous restaurant or catering experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key
- Basic knowledge of meal preparation, food safety practices, and kitchen operations
- Experience in cooking or culinary activities demonstrates a strong foundation in food handling
- Familiarity with serving procedures and customer service skills are advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new skills related to food preparation, safety standards, and kitchen teamwork
