Overview
We are a small, private dental practice in the heart of the New Forest seeking a dedicated and professional Qualified Dental Nurse/Receptionist to join our friendly dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess excellent patient care skills, strong organisational abilities, and effective communication skills. This role offers an opportunity to work in a supportive environment where your expertise in dental nursing and reception duties will be valued and utilised. You will be replacing a team member who is retiring after many years of service at the end of this year. The post is part time, working on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The practice is well established, giving you the opportunity to get to know a wonderful group of patients, in a relaxed and informal environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate patient care, ensuring patients feel comfortable and well-informed throughout their visit
- Assist dentist/hygienist during procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and handling dental instruments
- Manage reception duties including greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and handling patient enquiries
- Maintain accurate patient records using IT systems and ensure confidentiality at all times
- Ensure the practice complies with health and safety regulations and infection control protocols
- Support administrative tasks such as managing correspondence, updating patient information, taking payments and organising the daily schedule
- Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and suppliers to ensure smooth practice operations
Skills
- Qualified Dental Nurse
- Proven experience in patient care within a dental setting
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while demonstrating professionalism and empathy
- Good organisational skills to prioritise tasks and maintain an orderly work environment

Pay: £14.00-£16.00 per hour
